Equipment to checking the blasting are `blast profile gauge, wet film comb, and a dry film thickness gauge'.
Types of sandblasting
a) Blast clean to Sa 2½.
This requires a very thorough blast cleaning. Mill scale, rust and foreign matter(rust) are removed to the extent that the only traces remaining are slight stains in the form of spots or stripes. The surface shall then correspond in appearance to the prints designated Sa 2½.
b) Blast clean to Sa 2.
This requires a thorough blast cleaning. Almost all mill scale, rust and foreign matter(rust) are removed until the surface has a greyish color corresponding in appearance to the prints designated Sa 2.

3) Control valves
4) Air storage Vessel
5) Sand or Copper slags
6) Air compressor
7) Covered / Protected area for blasting (May use roofing sheets as cover)
8) Scaffolding for height work.
Safety precautions
1) Qualified / Experienced workers to handle air compressor.
2) Air storage vessel should be inspected by clients.
3) Proper and cleaned hoses.
4) Proper control valves
5) Close any leakages before start the job.
6) Area should be properly covered by sheets
